Fantastico moments with my Onshore

8:19 AM | Publish by Apurva

Last year while working in my office as usual, I was informed that my onshore partner is visiting our office in India and while he would be in India, I should take him out over the weekend and show him Mumbai. I didn’t agree initially, but when my boss told me that the entire Mumbai darshan I’m going to have with my onshore will be sponsored by the company, I quickly agreed to it.

Trust me, the entire day with my onshore partner was full of fantastico moments.

I booked a AC cab for the entire Saturday, picked him from JW Marriott in the morning and went to Siddhivinayak.  We parked the car on the other side of the road so we had to cross the road by beating the running traffic without any traffic signals present. My onshore panicked a bit and asked me how are we going to cross the road with such heavy running traffic and in absence of traffic signals. I told him to hold my left hand and watch my right hand and then see the magic. He was a bit nervous but didn’t had any choice. So he did what I said. The moment he held my left hand, I raised my right hand towards the traffic and started crossing the road. The entire traffic stopped till my hand was raised and then started again once I crossed the road and dropped my right hand.

My onshore partner was shocked an amazed and said that once he goes back to US he will tell everyone that I have magic hands which can stop traffic without the help of any traffic signal. This is the beginning of fantastico event.

Then we went to Hard rock cafe in town for a drink. The manager came to us as we were the only ones in the café at that point of time being the odd working hours off the afternoon. Manager gave us the Menu card. On each page of the drinks Menu card, there was a girl holding a drink.
My onshore partner kept on browsing the menu and then finally came down to a particular drink.
He asked the Manager, what’s the price of this drink? Manager replied and the drink was really costly. Hearing the price, my onshore partner asked, the price mentioned by the manager is the price of the drink only or does it include the price of the girl as well for serving us the drink?
All of us busted with laughter.

Fantastico moments continues.

Then we went to Marine drive, where he started taking pictures of couples. Then suddenly I don’t know what idea came to his mind he started clicking pictures of the couple by really getting very close to them, which frightened the couple and they ran away. He kept on shouting don’t be afraid he will be clicking and sharing their excellent pics with them. Again it was a very funny and fantastico moment for me.

Final fantastico moment for me came when after completing the Mumbai darshan we went for dinner. As soon as we took our table, the waiter starting keeping empty and clean plates in front of us. My onshore partner said that he really admires that how quickly the waiter brought the clean plates in front of us which were really very clean. We ordered the food, food came and as we were about to eat he asked me that how the service out here is so fast and how come the waiters brought so clean plates so soon. I told him that it’s simple. In this restaurant, the cleaners don’t waste time in cleaning the plates with soap and water and then drying them up with cloth. He was amazed. He asked then how do they clean it. I quickly said, they lick the plates and then present it in front of us. The moment he heard that, the food in his mouth came out, to which I busted with laughter and informed him that I was just kidding.

That ended our fantastico day however still my onshore partner often reminds me of the joke of licking the plates to clean them.
