Every Friday, in our office, we do some fantastico events
like playing games within the team, mimicry of each other, festival celebrations
if any, or bring evening snacks for the entire team.
This week the fun committee of our team planned to buy
snacks for everyone to make the Friday evening fantastico. Unfortunately Me and
My boss were so busy the entire Friday that we even couldn’t meet each other and
could hardly meet our team as well.
In the meantime the fun committee planned to order snacks
for everyone. I was not aware of the plan so around 5 pm I went for snack in
the food court of our building and since I was hungry I ate a lot.
When I reached back to my desk, one of the fun committee
members came to me and said that they have ordered snacks for me without even
asking me and took Rs 150 from me for the same.
I said I’m already full, but it’s ok.
After paying the money I was going to leave for another
meeting so asked one of the committee members that once the food comes, they should
call me. They said yes and then I walked away for the meeting.
30mins later, snacks arrived and fun committee members
started distributing the snacks to the team. The person to whom I said to call
me forgot about me completely. However, another person from the fun committee checked
with my boss about where he could locate me to call me for the snacks. Since I had
not met with my boss since morning, he thought I was on leave and told him that
I didn’t came to office. As a result they gave the snacks brought for me to
someone else.
When I came back almost after couple of hours, I asked for
my snack box. They then realized that they had given it to someone else and I looked
like a fool for whom the snacks were ordered without asking, took the money and
then again without asking gave the snacks to somebody else. Everyone including
me was laughing their heart out. This laughter incidence actually became the
fantastico event for the day.
But for me the more fantastico and satisfying event was when
I got my money back.
For the entire rest of the day, people were just talking about
the event that happened with me and were laughing like crazy and I was cursing
the fun committee continuously with a light heart for taking the money from me
and then delivering the snacks box to someone else and then I told them that going
forward I’m only going to pay once I receive the snack box in my hand and I also
consume it to which again people laughed out loud.
