Ingredients
1 Cup Chole (Chickpeas)
1 Onion finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped
2 Cardamom
2 Bay leaf
3-4 Cloves
1 Tea bag
1 tsp Ginger paste
1/4 tsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Chili powder
1.5 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Black pepper powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder/Chole masala powder
1/2 tsp Amchur powder (Dry Mango)
Kasuri Methi for flavour
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Oil
Method
1. Soak the chickpeas in enough water for 6-7 hrs
2. In a cooker add the soaked chickpeas along with the cardamom, bay leaf, cloves and tea bag and some salt. Pressure cook for 10 min.
3. Once done remove all the spices and tea bag from it.
4. Now in a pan add the oil and fry the onions and ginger paste till the onions are golden brown.
5. Add the tomatoes and let them cook for 3-4 min till they become soft.
6. Now add all the spice powders are fry for 3-4 min till the oil separates from the masala.
7. Once the masala is done add the boiled chickpeas along with the water as per required consistency.
8. Simmer the chickpeas for 10-15 min till a gravy is formed.
9. Add more salt if required and kasuri methi and cook for another 2-3 min.
10. Your chole masala is ready to eat. Serve with hot
