Here's my another recipe with raw mango.. Chunda is a Gujarat specialty and generally goes very well with thepalas..
I have used microwave to make this. But if you don't have microwave you can also make it on gas stove.
Ingredients
1 cup Grated Raw Mango (I used Totapari variety of raw mango)
1/2 cup Sugar (can add more if you want it to be more sweet)
3/4 tsp Roasted Jeera (Cumin)
1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
1/2 tsp Haldi powder (Turmeric)
Method
1. In a microwave safe dish mix the grated mango and haldi powder.
2. Now add the sugar and place it in the microwave on high for 3 min.
3. Stir it with a spoon and again microwave it for 2 min.
4. Now add the roasted jeera (coarsely powdered) and the red chilly powder and mix well.
5. Your jhatpat sweet and tangy chunda is ready to serve. Have it rotis or parathas..!!
Any chutney preparation requires oil. What is the shell life of such chutneys like oil less chundas?
It is always better to refrigerate the home made chutneys as we dont add any preservatives to it. Once you refrigerate it can even last for a year.
