My Story – My Life – My Day of Love

7:41 AM | Publish by Apurva

First time, I’m making it Public.

My Story – My Life – My Day of Love

It all started from School. We were part of the same school and same class. He had always been the rank holder of our class and I used to admire him, not because there was any attraction but because of his intelligence, honest and humble nature. Needless to say, he was good looking also.

Well even I was quite good looking, in fact more than him and intelligent too but less than him.
Till class 9th we were just batch mates but in high school we actually became friends when fortunately we both were nominated as School Captains. He was Boy’s captain and I was Girl’s Captain.

Slowly and slowly we became Best Friends. Every day in school we used to be with each other and after going home talk on phone for hours but only as ‘Friends’.

Our school friends started noticing it and told us that a boy and a girl cannot be just friends; they are always boyfriend and girlfriend. We use to laugh out on such comments and decided that we will prove that a boy and a girl can be just ‘Best Friends’ also.

After inter, it was time to get into an engineering college. We prepared for the entrance and luckily we got placed into same engineering college (sometimes, I really wonder how beautifully God writes our story called life).

Our friendship continued in college also. In fact it had grown leaps and bounds by now. We were like open books to each other. We could understand each other’s problems and feelings by just hearing the voice or by looking at each other’s face. Words were not at all required to express ourselves to each other. But still we were just “Best Friends”. We used to spend our maximum time with each other. Have our meals together, talking for hours and studying together had become part our daily routine.
Our friends tried a lot to convince us that we are in love with each other, but neither had we realized nor we agreed to it. We were extremely happy being best friends of each other.
The funny part is that being so close to each other we always use to feel proud in saying that how great our friendship is and didn’t realize that we have already started walking in the serene woods of love.

In the final year we both got placed in reputed organizations but this time we were not lucky to be part of same organization. We were happy for each other’s job but at the same sad that we would no longer be together as we got jobs in different cities. I got the job in Delhi itself but he had to travel to Mumbai.

Then the day arrived when he had to finally fly to Mumbai. I and some of his other friends decided to spend that entire day with him before he finally takes his flight at night.  I had some strange feelings that day and could notice the same with him. I found him very restless and noticed that he was looking at his watch every now and then. I asked him why he is checking his watch so often but he didn’t replied.

I kept on asking him the same thing and finally looking into my eyes he said,

“I am checking how much time is left for my flight and wishing that the time starts running like a snail, very slow, so that I can spend some more quality time with you”.

I smiled and then I said “we will always remain in touch on phone calls and video chats”. He smiled and again looked at his watch and said “5 hours and 30 mins left”, to which I smiled again.

Surprisingly after a couple of hours I also started looking at my watch and started feeling restless. Something strange was happening with us but we didn't realized it or may be didn't want to.

Finally, it was time for his flight and we all reached airport at 9 pm. He said goodbye to everyone and then it was my turn. We said good bye and then paused for a moment. I think we really wanted to hug each other but could not do in front of his parents.  Finally he headed towards security check and left. That night I felt as if I lost some part of my soul.

As the days passed, we started missing each other a lot. We use to talk over phone as usual but this time the feeling was not the same. Every day I could recall our friends saying that we both are in love. Deep within me I knew it but could not agree to it.

When he said that he is coming to Delhi for Diwali I was super excited and started counting the days. After coming home he called and asked me to come out for a dinner before Diwali.
He took me to a 5 star hotel where he had booked a table near a pool. The entire arrangement was like a dream. A bouquet of flowers was waiting for me and a vanilla candle was placed at the table.

I could sense the dinner to be really special and all this arrangement was making me feel shy and blush. I had so many dinners with him in the past but I never felt like this before and blushed.

He ordered all my favourite food and there was a live music performance going on that day. Everything was just perfect.

He then asked the waiter to bring 2 glasses of white wine and 2 ice cubes. There was something unusual with the ice cubes that he brought. They were not ordinary but a big heart shaped ones. I was very excited to see it and with lot of appreciation I asked him why the ice cubes are heart shaped, to which he replied with a tone full of intense love,

“There are few things which comes out of heart only when
the heart melts for someone”.

The moment he said that there was a complete silence between us; we were just looking into each other’s eyes as if lost in each other. After 2-3 minutes he asked me to put the ice in the wine glass, pour some wine and drink it. At the end of it I will realize what the heart was filled of.

My heart was bouncing like a basketball but I loved it. We slowly finished our wine but during the entire period we were just looking at each other’s eyes.

Finally, when the drink got over and the ice melted, what I saw was the most romantic and the most creative display of love a boy can do for a girl.

My wine glass had a platinum band which came out of that ice. I took it in my hand and I asked him what was that, to which he said,

“My love, the glass you had was having my heart which you melted to unleash love for yourself. Now, that heart has produced a symbol of love for us which is as
pure, eternal and everlasting as my love for you.”

These were the most romantic lines I had ever heard.

I was speechless with tears in my eyes. He had a similar band in his glass. He proposed me and said,
“if you accept my love and would like to marry me, can we then exchange these bands tonight?”

I didn't know what to say. I just stood and moved towards him and quickly hugged him and said that I'm so lucky that my best friend is my true love. We then exchanged the love bands (as we call them) with each other.

This was my day of love which resulted in our marriage. This platinum band is still very much part of our lives and it is even more important to us than our engagement rings, because it is the symbol of our first moment of love which will remain special forever.

Later when I asked him why did he chose Platinum ring to propose me, he said

"Platinum is very rare, pure and eternal just like my love for you.
It is perfect for everyday wear and will actually grow stronger day by day, as our love for each other will.
It is the most precious metal, as you are for me.
Platinum does not wear out or looses its radiance, same as our love which is everlasting."

Set yourself free.... enjoy the nature..!!

4:45 AM | Publish by Apurva

In today's time people have forgotten what being together is. Being together is not just staying a in house and leading individual lives. People have become slaves to the technology that they feel handicapped without it.

You can imagine a scenario where in a room husband, wife and kids are sitting in the room, but no one is bothered to speak to each other. One one hand father is busy working on his laptop, while mother is busy chatting on her smart phone. While the kids are busy in playing with their playstation. To say they all are together and enjoying with the weekend, but are they really together that is a question to be asked...!!

Well togetherness is not just the presence in each others life. But it is sharing beautiful moments with each other, listen to each other, enjoying nature together, getting dirty while playing in the nature and laughing with each other. If I remember my childhood, where there were no mobile phones, Playstations, laptops, etc., Sundays were the days when my dad use to take us to a garden and we all use to play with a ball, frisbee and many other games. Those were the moments that I still cherished. Like I remember how my dad taught me riding a bicycle, playing badminton, tennis and i still remember those small small moments. During those days sitting at home on a holiday was like a punishment. During those days we did not have any malls, gaming zones, etc. For us outing was going to a garden or picnic spots.

But now things have changed a lot. Not going out with a family means going out to a mall or have dinner at some restaurants. Life has become so mechanical. I wish people could know the real meaning of togetherness.

People can understand togetherness only when they are free from the chains of the technology. There should be a place where there is no mobile network, no laptops, no playstations. Families should go to such place and let them free. Nature will teach them the real meaning of family and togetherness. Dads should get an opportunity to play cricket with their kids. Only then they will know the joy when their kids hit their ball for a six. That moment of joy cannot be compared to having a new smartphone. Moms should get an opportunity to do gardening with their kids. The pleasure of teaching kids how to plant and water together cannot be compared to chatting with friends.

Husband and wife should get an opportunity to spend time in the vicinity of the nature. Only then they will realize there is so much to talk and share with each other. When they spent time at home surrounded with all the gadgets, they never get free time to sit and talk with each other.

Hence, to know the real meaning of togetherness, let people go into the nature away from all their gadgets and spend time with each other. It is only then they will realize that just physical presence is not togetherness, but spending beautiful moments with each other and cherishing those moments for a lifetime is the real togetherness.

A story of another die-hard cricket fan..!!

2:24 AM | Publish by Apurva

Cricket is like God in India. People are crazy about cricket here, and i am also one of them. I am a die-hard cricket fan.
My mood swings depends on how India is playing. If India plays well and win, i am the happiest person on the Earth. But on days when India looses a match I become the most depressed person.

I remember getting up early in the morning to watch matches played abroad and taking a half day from the office if India is batting second.
There are times in office wherein one of the PCs the live streaming of match is played by someone through some proxy settings and we all get hooked to that PC as if some video conferencing is going on.
Oh God.. have done some crazy things to be able to see cricket matches played by India.

But now things have become easy. Now everyone has smart phones with internet connection. So instead of depending on someone to crack the proxy setting in the office, or try to hear the commentary while on the Go, everyone can watch the streaming on their mobile phones.
But then there are no good streaming sites available to be able to watch the cricket match without any interruption. Many a times i become so frustrated due to the streaming speed that i totally give up watching the match and then have to watch only the highlights on television.

I wish there could be some browser or an app available only for cricket, so that people can watch matches even if there is no high speed internet connection.
It would be a boon for crazy cricket fans like me if I am able to watch matches from anywhere.

And not only this the apps should be able to allow me to watch a shot as many number of times I want, so that i can enjoy my cricket experience to the fullest.
Also, if I am not able to watch the live telecast due to some reason, i should be able to watch the full match at my convenient time and not be dependent on any television telecast.
Also, another thing i wish is that while watching a match i should be able to get whatever statistics that i want about any player or any match. Otherwise have to depend only on what is telecasted by the cricket coverage.

Have heard about UC browser that claims to faster, easier and features a cricket space dedicated for every cricket fan. So looking forward to it and use it as soon as possible as the India Zimbabve series is going to start. I am sure that i will be able to enjoy all the matches on the UC browser even when i am on the go or in office.

Reliving bachpan with my kids bachpan...!!

6:06 AM | Publish by Apurva

‘Koi lautade mere bachpan ke din…!’ I am sure every one of us must have asked this to God. Bachpan ke din are the most precious days in anyone’s life. Nothing can be as pure and serene than the childhood days. But have you ever thought why your childhood days are so memorable for you..? Well it is only because your parents had made them so beautiful for you.

Now when I am a parent, I always try that even for my kid his bachpan ke din should be as beautiful and memorable as mine. I try to to motivate him to think creative, explore new things and encourage him in whatever he wants to do (obviously things that are not harmful to him or anyone else).

Kids nowadays are very smart and have lot of exposure. Imagine my kiddo when he was 2 years old was able to operate my mobile and play his rhymes on youtube..!! They have a very good grasping capacity and can learn things very quick. The facilities that they have today like mobile, computers, internet, learning games and what not were never there during our childhood.

When I was a child I could remember my mom playing nursery rhymes cassette in a tape-recorder. But now there are so many colourful animated videos available on the youtube for them. They can see the videos and relate to the rhyme and learn them quickly. When he listens to these rhymes I feel as if I have returned to my childhood days as I too watch those videos with him and recite them loud with him with actions. And when my little kiddo tells me that I am not doing it correctly and a particular action has to be done like this it feels as if a complete reversal of role play. We both have such a lovely time together while watching these videos for kids.

There are times when my kid makes us a story with the characters from his nursery rhymes and ask me and my husband to play a role from his story. We both enjoy these moments so much and act childlike with our kid.

Encouraging kids for all such things are like ‘Khuljaye bachpan’ for them. Let them explore their creativity and participate with them. I am sure you too will feel as if your bachpan ke din have returned back. So take this opportunity and relive your bachpan with the bachpan of your kid..!!

Love you Maa..!!

Mom is the best gift that god has given to every child. Mom is like life supporter for the child. She is the answer to every silly question that pops out in your mind. She plays the role of teacher, guide, mentor, friend in all phases of your life.

To me my mom like a best friend. She is an expert in whatever she does. I owe my success in life only to her. During my childhood she helped me become a good student. She didn't knew English very well, but just for me herself first took English lessons and then taught me so that I didn't lack behind. In my school Marathi was the second language that we had to study. Since Marathi is not our mother tongue we had lot of difficulty in studying it. My mom took lot of efforts like take help from neighbor, using translations book to help me with Marathi. It was only her efforts that made me today what I am.

Along with the studies, she also taught me lot of other things like art and crafts, cooking, dance etc. She is like an expert in all these things. And only because of her I can say that I have become an all-rounder in my life. I became not only good in studies but all in all the other extra-curricular activities. Today when people appreciate my cooking skills I give this credit only to my Mom, after all I have learned these things only from her.

Now when I have become mom, I still find her with me for all the support. Whenever I need help, or need consultation for the baby, my mother is always there for me at any time. She is always there to guide me and correct me if I am doing anything wrong.

My mom is not only there in my happiness but also when I am sad. When things go wrong in life, she is the one who listen to my thoughts and help me vent out my anger. Sometimes she has to bear my anger also, but she never complaints and help me calm down. There is no one else in my life with whom I can so comfortably share my feeling and speak up my mind other than my mom.

My mom is an multi-tasker and she plays so many roles without any difficulties. She is really an expert. Mom you are everything for me and I love you very much.

Be Positive.... Live positive

10:12 AM | Publish by Apurva

Optimism is the one of the biggest weapon for success in life. If you think positive about certain thing, your half the battle is won. You must have heard people saying be positive and live positive.

Well my mantra to life is also on the same principal of being positive. My belief is that thinking optimistic about anything with send positive signals to God and that thing is surely going to happen.

During college days when my friends use to be nervous about the result I use to be very cool and be positive about my result. If my papers have gone well my result will surely be very good. I didn't expect miracles to happen, but whatever I have done I will be paid for that by God. And my theory of Optimism always paid off good results for me.

There was another situation, during my campus placements, when all the toppers were bagging good jobs everyday, and we average students were left with nothing. But I was very positive that I will bag one of the best jobs. And then I was able to crack the interview of one the best paying companies and got a good placement. All my friends were really surprised that I got such a good placement. That moment made my optimistic approach more strong. When all other had lost hope of getting job, I stayed positive and finally was able to achieve what I wanted.

I am really a very optimistic person. I always try to think positive or bring some positive angles to situations which had gone wrong for me. For example, if I see my today's situation where I am about to quit my job and take a break for few years due to some personal constraints and to look after my 2 yr old kid. Though it’s a very difficult decision for me, I am thinking positive about it. I have been working for last 10 years non stop with very hectic schedules. And after having kid, managing home and work was very tiresome for me.  So this break will give some time to rest and spend some quality time with my kiddo.
After leading a very busy life I know initially it will be very difficult for me adjust in this new lifestyle, but again if I think positive I can now spend more time in kitchen and do lots and lots of cooking which a love a lot. I will get some time look after my home which I was not able to give while I was working.

So even though I am losing something, this situation has filled a lot of optimism in me. May be it’s a signal from God that there is something good stored for me in future. Being optimistic releases half of my tensions and help me to have a positive outlook for the future.

I would like to just say one thing to my readers that be optimistic and think positive. Don’t ever bring negative thoughts in your mind. If you think positive, only those good things will happen with you.

Use Quikr Nxt and be Befikar..!!

4:58 AM | Publish by Apurva

It was just last month that we were in one of the city malls where we saw this promotion of a new Honda car. We were so tempted that we went there and had a look on the features and the car interiors. It had such advanced technology that were not present in our existing car. We were so impressed with the car that we could not stop thinking about it.

Next day during breakfast a thought just occurred in my mind and I asked my husband that why don’t we buy a new car (actually the one that we saw yesterday). He took a pause and then said yes. We will buy the new Honda car that we saw yesterday.

But after analyzing our finances, we realized that maintaining two cars will be very difficult for us. We can buy the new one only if we sell our old car which will also help us in financing the new one. But then we thought that it is so difficult to get a right agent who can help us to get a good price for the car.

Then we saw an advertisement about Quikr Nxt where we can sell old goods and direct deal with the buyers. We thought let us try this out. We registered ourselves on Quikr Nxt and posted an advertisement on it.  Along with a good description about the make and condition of the car we also posted few photographs of our car.

The next day of our post, we started getting inquiries about our car. The good thing is we don’t need to speak to the people over phone. The chat feature is so useful. The initial exchanges can be over chat where we answered the queries about the car. My husband had also installed the mobile app, so that he could connect to the buyers while he is on the go.

After chatting with lot of inquiries, we found 4-5 genuinely interested buyers who wanted to visit and check out the car. We called them at one of the meeting places and allowed them to have a test drive of the car.  Once they were satisfied with the car, we had negotiations with 3 of them.

After negotiations we finalized the deal on the price which we had initially thought of. The whole process just took a week and was so hassle free. The other good thing was that there was no agent or mediator involved. The entire deal was direct between us and the buyer. So none of us had to give any commission to anyone. Also the entire process was transparent and none of us felt cheated.

The next week we got the money from the buyer and completed the selling formalities. While we were in the process of talking to the buyers, we had already booked our new car. So once we got the money from the buyer we paid this money to the new car dealer and for the rest of the amount took a car loan. So within another week’s time our new car was at our door steps. We were so happy with our decision. And since we got a good price for our old car (thanks to Quikr Nxt) it did not caused any financial burden on us.

The dream that we both saw while were in mall checking out the car, finally came true..!!

One who will listen to me. If I am sad he should be able be make me happy by saying some funny things for singing a song for me.

I want my Valentine to make me feel that I am not alone. His presence should make me feel comfortable as if I am with my closed ones. His love, care should make me feel special.

I also want my Valentine to be intelligent and smart. Whenever I am stuck with something he should be able to help me. He should have answers to all my questions. In front of my friends he should make me feel intelligent.

My most valued earning...TRUST

1:20 AM | Publish by Apurva

Trust is the most valued thing that I can have in my life. Be it the trust of husband, my parents, my family. I know that they trust me and hence I don’t have to carry any baggage of lies or hide anything from them.

But how did I earned this trust from them..? Well earning is trust is not that easy. When I was I child, I never used to hide anything from my parents, be it good or bad. I used to narrate every tiny incident or mischief that I had done. My mom was so confident on me that I will never hide anything from her. Well and I too didn’t let her trust down.

As I grew I could feel the value of the trust that I had earned. During outings with friend, my parents never said no to me, while many of my friends were not given the permission. This was because of the trust that I had earned from my parents. They knew that I will never lie or hide anything from them.

This value of truth helped in my growing years, where I met different people, made new friends. I knew that I have be what I am and never lie to anybody. This one lie can bring down my good image that I had earned for years. And my friends always trusted me for whatever I was and I am.

Then came the time when parents started looking for a groom for myself. I had a past which I thought was very necessary to share with my future life partner before getting into a relationship. I was very sure that I will not hide my past with anyone I meet and whoever was ready to accept my past with me, I will marry him.

I met many guys and told them about my past. Most of them did not called back again after the first meeting. At one point of time I thought whether my truth I going to cost me this big. But then I met HIM. He very calmly listened to my entire story and didn’t said a word to me about it. We had lunch and left for our homes. I lost the hope that he would call me again. The next day to my surprise, I got a call from him asking if I would come out for coffee. I didn’t had any words and just said yes.

We spent around 2 hrs speaking to each other. But not even once he asked any questions or details about my past. To my curiosity I asked him, if he was ready to go ahead with the relationship after knowing about my past. To which he said, the past was past and it didn’t bothered to him at all. The thing that impressed him was my courage to place the truth in front of him and hold the responsibility for it. It is not easy to face the truth and share it with some stranger. He said that he was confident that a girl who can share such a big truth of her life, will never hide anything from her partner and he completed trusted me on that.

The trust that I had earned from him that day is still strong as rock. This trust has held our relationship so strongly for last 5 yrs and I am sure will continue till our lifetime.

OLD (Ayurveda) is GOLD (Precious)

2:49 AM | Publish by Apurva

Today we call ourselves modern and more learned as compared to our ancestors. Our science and technology has progressed to such great heights that human are now considered to have godly powers as they have solution/cure for almost everything. We are proud of our technology but still majority of us still has lot of faith in the knowledge that our ancestors have passed on to us. Before humans could understand and develop the medicinal world of chemically processed and synthetic products , God had already given us the power of healing through his creation of Nature. He has created so many valuable herbs, shrubs, fruits, flowers, trees etc which are full of medicinal powers. He had passed on this knowledge to our Vedic gurus, which is now available to us as Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit term which means “knowledge of love”. Ayurvedic medicine is entirely holistic. It adherents strive to create harmony between the body, mind, and spirit, maintaining that this balance prevents illness, treats acute conditions, and contributes to a long and healthy life.

Ayurvedic medicine is India's primary healthcare system. More than 90 percent of the continent's population use some form of Ayurvedic therapy, including following its dietary principles, practicing traditional or "grandma's medicine," or seeking professional help from trained Ayurvedic practitioners.

In our day to day life there are so many products that we consume which are having ayurvedic properties. When you have sore throat or cold and cough, your mother must have given Haldi (Turmeric) milk, because it has anti-infection properties. Have you ever thought why is Saunf (Fennel Seeds) or Paan (Beetle Leaves) served after meals, it is because of its digestive properties. When you feel sick, you must have had Tulsi (Holy Basil) Tea, why, because it is soothing to body and provides protection. As a child you must have had lot of Badam (Almonds) especially during exam times. Have you ever thought why, because it is a mental stimulant and helps in remembering things. These all examples are some form of ayurvedic products which we consume in our day to day life even without have the knowledge of Ayurveda.

Last year when I had my first child, I had gone to my Mom’s place for the delivery which is a small town near Pune in Maharashtra. I should say that each region has its own believes and traditions. We are north Indian but staying in Maharashtra for a long time. So we generally follow mixed practices of both these regions, whatever we find comfortable and useful. Well, my mother was very keen that we follow the traditional post-partum practice that is followed here for me and my baby. We had heard a lot about it and its benefits. I agreed to it and hired a trained lady to visit our home every day.  She used to give a full body massage with some special ayurvedic oil to me followed by a nap and bath. They say that these oil massages helps to lubricate the joints and helps in blood circulation which relaxes the tired body. Initially when I started taking the massages I felt it is of no use, but after 3-4 sessions I realized its advantages. Suddenly I felt lot of strength in my muscles and was less tired. I then understood the importance of these ayurvedic practices which are followed from ages and we “modern” people tend to ignore. After seeing the results, I followed all the Do’s and Don’ts that she used to tell me.

As my belief in Ayurvedic practices grew stronger, I didn’t want to miss anything for my child. The trained lady also use to give oil massage to my baby. She was very particular and asked me get the Dabur Lal Tail only for the massage. She said it has lot of ayurvedic products in it which will help my baby’s bones and muscles to grow stronger. So without having any doubt I got the oil for my baby’s massage. She used to first give massage to him followed by a hot water bath. After bath she also used to give him some aromas generated with few ayurvedic products (I don’t remember the names of what she used). According to her these aromas would prevent the baby from getting cold and cough. After all this pampering my baby use to have a very relaxed nap.

After 6 weeks I started giving massage to my baby with Dabur Lal Tail on my own and have continued it till now. He is 1 year old now. I think this massage was very beneficial to him as he started walking when he was just 10 months old. His bones and muscles are quite strong. Whole day he is on his feet, running and walking here and there. I have my complete faith on this Ayurvedic oil which has benefited my baby a lot. There are other oils from reputed companies available in the market. When it comes to babies I think it is always better to avoid all those chemically processed products and prevent babies from the exposure of chemicals as much as possible.

Apart from using ayurvedic oil, I also use few other ayurvedic products like Jayphal,  Harde, Ajwain etc for common sickness. Like when he catches cold, I give a little jayphal with milk which provides lot of relief to him. Also when I feel he is a little constipated I give him a little harde and Ajwain water. These home remedies or you can say Grandmas’ advices are very effective and we can again avoid the usage of allopathic medicines for the babies. When I came across Dabur Janam Ghunti I realized it has all the mix of products which I bring individually, prepare and give to my baby. Now I have started using the Janam Ghunti has it helps in the stomach ailments like constipation, diarrhoea  vomiting, colic etc. It is ready to use and reduced my efforts of preserving the products and then giving it in the right quantity.

All this Traditional knowledge is now becoming popular worldwide. Hence the ayurvedic medicines which our grandmothers use to prepare at home are now widely available in market and are clinically tested by authorized laboratories. For example, companies like Dabur have so many Ayurvedic products like the Lal Tail,  Chyawanprash, Janam Ghunti, etc. All these products are highly popular among masses and people prefer them as compared to the other synthetic products.

I have my complete faith on Ayurveda and wherever possible I prefer Ayurvedic products when available. As the saying goes ‘OLD is GOLD’, similarly the old traditional knowledge will always be Gold and will be passed from generations to generations as the gold does.
