We are just best friends yaar..!!

It all started from School. We were part of the same school and same class. He had always been the rank holder of our class and I used to admire him, not because there was any attraction but because of his intelligence, honest and humble nature. Needless to say, he was good looking also.Well even I was quite good looking, in fact more than him and intelligent too but less than him.

But one thing was common in both of us and that was our love for music. We both loved the hindi old melodies and were very good singers. We both participated in many music competitions as duet singers and won most of them
Till class 9th we were just batchmates and teammates as we both were very proud of our singing talent. In high school we actually became friends when we both starting each others talent and love for music.

Slowly and slowly we became Best Friends. Every day in school we used to be with each other and after going home talk on phone for hours, listen to music and practice singing, but only as ‘Friends’.

Our school friends started noticing it and told us that a boy and a girl cannot be just friends; they are always boyfriend and girlfriend. We use to laugh out on such comments and decided that we will prove that a boy and a girl can be just ‘Best Friends’ also.

After 12th, it was time to get into graduation college. We prepared for the entrance and luckily we got placed into the same college (sometimes, I really wonder how beautifully God writes our story called life).

Our friendship continued in college also. In fact it had grown leaps and bounds by now. We were like open books to each other. We could understand each other’s problems and feelings by just hearing the voice or by looking at each other’s face. Words were not at all required to express ourselves to each other. But still we were just “Best Friends”. We used to spend our maximum time with each other. Have our meals together, talking for hours and studying together had become part our daily routine.
In the college too we were the most popular duet singers and we enjoyed that popularity
Our friends tried a lot to convince us that we are in love with each other, but neither had we realized nor we agreed to it. We were extremely happy being best friends of each other.
The funny part is that being so close to each other we always use to feel proud in saying that how great our friendship is and didn’t realize that we have already started walking in the serene woods of love.

One day we were just listening to some music. Suddenly a song played on "Pyaar hua ikrar hua.. pyaar se kyun darta hai dil". I felt some goosebumps in my stomach. Somehow i felt very shy and could not stop smiling. It was not the first time when we were listening to romantic music. But that day was different. I had realized that I am in love with my best friend.

I was not sure about his feelings but thought that i will tell him how i felt for him. Since music had brought us so close to each other i thought let me confront my love for him through music.

On his birthday, i asked him if we can go on a long drive to which he agreed. A night before i had collected all our favourite romantic songs which i thought we will play during our drive. And then one by one all the romantic songs played in. Suddenly the total atmosphere in the car turned so romantic. I just waited for the song and told him that the next song is something from my heart and will wait for his answer. The song played was "Ehsan tera hoga mujh par.. dil chahta hai wo kahne do.. mujhe tum se mohobbat hogayi hia.. mujhe palkon ke chav me rahne do..".

I just closed my eyes and waited to what he has to say. Slowly he held my hand and said that he had loved me from school days, but was afraid to say as he feared to lose me as a friend. That day we confessed our love for each other.

Music was a bond that brought us close to each other and it was also music that helped us realize our love for each other.
