Jhatpat Simple Recipes

Day to day simple, yet intersting jhatpat recipes...!!

Moong Dal Khichadi

Ingredients
1 cup Moong Dal
1 cup Rice
1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin) seeds
1/2 tsp Haldi (Turmeric) powder
1/4 tsp Hing ( Asafoetida) powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Paste
1 tbsp Desi Ghee
Salt to taste
Few Coriander leaves


Method
1. In a hot pan dry roast the rice and dal for 2 min.
2. Now in Pressure Cooker, heat the ghee and then add the jeera seeds.
3. Once the jeera crackle, add the hing and garlic paste. Sauté for half a min and then add the roasted rice and dal.
4. Now add 3 cups of water and remaining ingredients and mix well.
5. Close the lid and pressure cook on high flame till 3 whistles.
6. After three whistles close the flame. Serve hot with pickle or curd.
