Navigation.. a boon or a pain..!!

9:58 AM | Publish by Apurva

Me and my husband are very fond of exploring new places. Whenever we have a long weekend we just take our car and leave to explore a new place. It can be either an untouched, non commercial place, a lesser know place or just a new road.

On all our such trips Navigation is our best companion. We cannot imagine our trips without using the navigation. We are so used to using navigation that sometimes even if we know the route we confirm it with our navigation.

But one thing i have realized that women can use the navigation better than men. I have realized it through various incidents.

Once when i was driving, i aksed my husband to guide me the route through navigation. After riding for sometime, i realized that i have come to the same road that i passed some time ago. After asking my husband whether he had lost some turn, he said that maybe while he was changing the music he must have missed the turn.

And that was not the first time that it had happened. Whenever i guide him, my full concentration is on the navigation, and never ever we have lost the route. But with my husband, it has been many times he has lost the route. And this is not just my experience, but many of my friends have the same complaint.

Thus, i have made a general conclusion the men cannot handle the navigation as good as the women.

I wish my car had an inbuilt navigation in the car itself, so that I didn't have to depend on my husband for the guidance.

But i should say that many a times we have lost the route due to the navigation also. The navigation cannot understand whether the route that it is showing has proper roads or not or whether the road exists or not. Many a times it has happened that in order to show the shortest route it has taken us through such narrow and broken routes that we had almost lost the route and take the help of the people to get on the main road. Once it had shown us a route that ran straight into a field. We were stunned as to how can it show us this route.

But yes.. survival without navigation for the explorers like us is impossible . We cannot imagine our trips without navigation. We both are fans of the little voice that prompts about the route in the system. Sometimes it is so funny when the lady pronounces the names of the road in the English accent which sounds very funny.

There is a lot of scope in the data improvement in the current navigation system. Though the current navigation system is a boon, sometimes it becomes a pain a well.
