Hello friends.. Its been a while when i have shared my recipes on my blog. But these days i am keeping so busy that i was unable to experiment of some. But today i am going to share some fantastico ideas which will surely be helpful in your kitchen.
Aaj khane me kya banega... this is the question that troubles every woman. Thinking about the menu and trying to keep it interesting is really a difficult. My funda on this is very simple. I do my vegetable shopping once a week and keep almost 4-5 veggies like ladies finger, cauliflower, cabbage, bottle gourd, carrots and peas along with the essentials tomatoes, potatoes and onions. With this i try to experiment every week with these vegetables every week. Like for example i make a different variety of ladies finger every week. Once with potato, once with tomatoes and once the bharwan one. So this doesn't look repetitive and all my family members love it.
Similarly with cauliflower. It is one vegetable that my family gets bored very easily. They cannot eat the aloo gobhi sabzi every week. But then what to do. You have so limited vegetables in the market that you have to bring these limited ones every week. So i have some fantastico ideas for gobhi also. One week i make the typical aloo gobhi sabzi. The other week i crush it completely and make make it chatpata but adding the spices to it. Then i make some awesome gobhi parathas out of it which are loved by my family.. They don't eat the gobhi sabzi but love the parathas made from gobhi. The other idea that i have is too put small amount of gobhi in different oather sabzis, like i make a mix veg with gobhi, carrots, aloo and capsicum or make a rice pulao using all these vegetables.
The same problem is with cabbage. One of my family members like the typical sabzi made out of cabbage. So i try to make it interesting my adding the maggi masala to it. It enhances the taste of cabbage and liked by all. Other this that i do is again crush it and make parathas out of it. Also i try to experiment the cooking method. Sometimes i cook it in open wok and sometimes i pressure cook it. This gives a different taste to it every time.
And once a week i make sure to make something out of sprouts. Sprouts as you know are very nutritious and healthy. So once a week i make a sabzi out of sprouts by just adding onions and tomato to it. Similarly, i alternate the lentils like chole, rajma, lobia, channa every week. This doesn't make the menu repetitive and i am able to give a healthy meal to my family.
With all this on weekends i make something special like, idli, dosa, pav bahji, pizza, pastas, chinese, chaats etc. So with little variations in the cooking with some fantastico ideas and experimenting with the food, you can make the same ingredients look interesting and give your family healthy, tasty and fantastico meals every day.
