Last month i had an opportunity to visit the most fantastico wedding ceremony i have ever attended. It was a wedding ceremony of my best friend with her childhood friend.
Well their love story is also very funny. They have been friends since their childhood. As they grew up they were both engaged in different relationships for a few years but they both still remained as friends and used to discuss their relationships with each other very openly.
But when their parents started putting pressure for marriage, they realized that they are not ready to go in a long term relationship with their respective partners. There was something which was stopping them. Then they realized that they didn't truly loved their partners as they have already given thier hearts to each other long time ago. Only they didn't realize it. So when they realized it, they were ready to get married to each other as they wanted to spend the rest of their life with each other.
They decided to have a destination wedding in the Palace of Udaipur. We all friends were also very excited to attend the wedding as it was the first time we were going to attend a Palace Wedding.
When we arrived at the palace, we were welcomed with a tikka and garland of flowers, and most interesting, we were taken to our room on a Camel...!! The wedding was planned for 3 days. First day Mehendi, second day Sangeet and third day the main wedding.
So on the first day we had a great mehendi party. We all were dressed in colorful lehengas and were ready for the ladies to decorate our hands with henna. The decoration of the place where the mehendi took place was grand.. There were colorful duppatas and garland of flowers all over. And in the middle of this, we were sitting with our hands with some most beautiful henna on our hands. Delicious snacks were served continuously and poor our guy friends had to help us eat them. I was sure when the mehendi is so grand, the other ceremonies are also going to be fantastico.
Next day, we all enjoyed the Sangeet. We all friends had prepared two-three dance numbers on some peppy music which were liked by everyone. The bride and the groom also danced to a romantic song choreographed by a professional. The stage on which we all dance was fantastico. With every song it changed its background and gave special light effects to the dance which made them look very grand. There were many dances by the family members from both the groom and the bride side. It was the most grand sangeet that i had ever attended.
Then came the D-day. The wedding ceremony was planned to start from the evening. The whole palace was decorated like a royal wedding. The bride was carried on a Royal chariot to the Mandap. And the groom arrived in a helicopter. They both were looking a royal prince and princess. We too were dressed in heavy sarees. We took lots of selfies with the groom and bride. As the ceremony was taking place we all engaged ourselves to the food counters. There was an unlimited variety of food. I haven't tasted such tasty vegeterain dishes ever. It made me believe that vegetarian too can also be that tasty. We could taste every food item as our stomach was already full.
After the food we watched both of them taking wedding vows. The ceremony was over almost at midnight. The bride left with the groom in a beautifully decorated mercedes.
I could still feel the goosebumps as i am writing about the wedding. It was the most fantastico wedding i had ever seen.. so grand and so royal..!!
