Nowadays we see lot of kids in the television industry.
Some kids are even playing the lead role in many daily soaps. Also there are so
many reality shows based on kids airing on every channel. Sometimes I feel that
they are so lucky to be working in this industry at such a small age, but then
the next thought comes is what impact does it cause to their life and is it good for them?
Television industry is not a easy industry to work in. The working
conditions are very tough as people have to work for long hours and odd hours.
The kids working here are even not spared with this. When we see them on the
television, we feel so good to see their talent and the good work they are
doing. But behind each and every episode there are many hard hours put in by those little
kids.
Well, not only this, the television industry impacts the
life of these little kids in many ways. Let us look at some these impacts.
- The kids working at such young age, have their studies impacted big time. The kids are not able to attend regular school as they have to put long hours for the shooting. Because of this they are losing a very important part of their life and that is their school life. When other kids of their age are enjoying and studying in the school, they have to spend their time on shooting.
- The career in television industry is very short lived. One is popular till the time they are working in a serial. But after that, it becomes very difficult to maintain a regular life away from the limelight. This impacts their life very much as they are not able to resume a regular lifestyle.
- Honestly, I have seen a lot of attitude in the kids working in the glamorous world. The kids do not behave like a normal kid and not able to lead a normal life.
- Once in this industry, they start dreaming to become an actor once they grow up. Because of this, they are not able to develop an academic career. And if they are not successful in fulfilling their dream, their rest of life is impacted a lot. As neither they are able to develop an academic career or in the glamor industry.
- Apart from daily soaps, kids are also taking part in the reality competition based shows. On one hand, these shows help them to showcase in front of whole world, but on the other hand, their young minds are not able to handle the competition. At such young age they are not able to handle rejection, which impacts their self-confidence.
Even after knowing all these negative impacts on the kids,
parents are still pushing their kids to work in this industry. There is lot of
money in this industry and hence parents leave no stones unturned to get work
for their kids in this glamor world. They don’t realize that making their kids
work at such young age is nothing less than making their kids work as labors.
Also working at such young age impacts their future life which they are not able to foresee now.
