"Chittiyan kalaiyan ve.. oh mahi meri chittiyan kalaiyan ve"... the music was playing on my radio. The song is so peppy that i could not help but started dancing to the tune, not realizing that i am on my terrace balcony and people around me are watching me dance. But i was totally in my own world.
I just love dancing. Whenever a peppy number is played somewhere, i cannot help but start moving to the dancing tune. Sometimes i don't even realize when my hands or legs are moving to the music while i am in public places.
So coming back to that day.. i started dancing to the peppy numbers played on the radio on our terrace. One by one some awesome peppy numbers were played by the RJ. I think i almost danced for about 20-25 min. When i was tired and came to my senses, i realized that i am on the terrace and people are watching me dance from their balconies. I felt very embarrassed and went inside.
That same day in the evening i got a call on the intercom. It was a lady from the opposite building. She said that her daughter saw me dancing on the terrace today and wants to dance the same way. She asked me if i can teach her daughter dance. I was totally surprised. Dancing is my passion but i had never thought of teaching one. I told her the same. But she insisted me to teach her daughter dance like me.
I could not say no to her, but i told her that i will not be charging anything from her as i am not a professional trainer. So from next day onwards a little girl of 7-8 years old started coming to my place to learn dance. I randomly picked up a peppy number and asked her if will like to learn the dance on this song and she excitedly said yes.
The class went on for a month where i taught her dance on many peppy numbers. She was a good learner and very flexible so picked up all the dance steps very quickly. Slowly i started receiving lots of requests to teach their kids dancing. I was becoming popular.
Now, even i gained confidence and started enjoying as a dance trainer. I thought to take it up as a professional. So i started a batch of kids for the dance. For my first batch itself, i got lots of inquiries. Later i had to refuse the parents as the batch had been already full. My first dance batch was very successful the few of the kids even won few dance competitions in their schools.
Today i have become a professional dance trainer for kids. I am called by schools, societies to set up group dances for the various events. I still can't believe that one day had changed my life completely. My hobby has now become my profession. But i have not changed, you play a peppy number and will see me dancing to it instantly.
