It was the day of our first anniversary. Ours is an arranged marriage, and like most couples our love developed only after marriage. This one year of our marriage was like a roller coaster ride with lots of ups and downs. It took time for us to understand each other and adjust with each other's likes and dislikes. But as we got out each situations our understanding grew stronger and stronger and we didn't knew when we fell in love with each other.
We both wanted our anniversary day to be special for each other. I brought some gifts of his liking and placed them everywhere in the house with clues to them. He too brought some special gifts for me. Very curiously i opened all my gifts and loved them all. The biggest one was for the last. I opened it and found a lovely evening gown with a note "Get ready by 7".
It was really exciting. I had no clue what surprise is stored in for me for the night. Frankly speaking, i didn't expect this from him as he not a person who can plan for surprises. But with full excitement i wore that lovely gown and got ready before time. Sharp at six a chauffeur driven car was waiting for me outside. I got into the car and just kept on guessing where were we heading.
Suddenly i realized that the car is heading towards the beach. And then it clicked to me that it is the new beach hotel that as opened up recently. After reaching the place i saw a young handsome gentlemen waiting for me with a bouquet of flowers in hand. It was my husband looking at his best. I realized that i was falling for him all over again.
He blindfolded my eyes and asked me to walk with him. I could hear my favorite music playing in the background. When i opened my eyes, my heart just fell out. I had seen that kind of setup only in the movies. It was a single table on the beach with candles, white curtains all over. Behind the table were the group of musicians playing my favourite music. The music was just setting up the mood for the evening. I had no words to say to my husband. I just looked at him and tears rolled down my eyes. I haven't felt that special in my life as i felt that day.
There were two wine glasses on the table. We actually had no words to speak to each other. We were just looking in each other's eyes while having the wine. The muscians were playing the most beautiful music which turned the atmosphere full of romance.
The food was served. We had the our food which was really very awesome. The chef had served his best delicacies on our table. After the food it was time for the dessert. I didn't even imagined that there was one more surprise waiting for me. While having the ice cream i felt something in the bowl. to my surprise it was a solitaire diamond ring. I was again out of words, i just hugged and kissed my husband. The music kept on playing continuously conveying all my feelings for him.
We quickly finished the dessert and left for our home. It was the most fantastico evening i had ever spent with anyone. I feel very lucky to have a husband like him with whom i feel on the top of the world.
