We meet many people in different walks of life. People come and go, some you remember some you not. But there are only a few of them whom you cannot forget for a lifetime, as they leave a strong impact on your life.
There is one such person in my life. She was first my aunty then my teacher whom i loving called as Maya Aunty. She was the most loved teacher in our entire school. Sometimes strict, sometimes loving, she is the person behind the success of so many students in their life.
With me her equation was different. She was our neighbor and one of our close family friends. During my childhood days i use to wait when will she come from school, so that can go and play with her. My mom says that i use to be more at their place than our own home. She also used to shower all her love to me like her own daughter.Such was the impact of her presence in my life that felt ill for a week when they moved to some other place and were no longer our neighbors
As i grew, a new relation developed between me and her, that of a teacher and her student. Though she use to teach higher classes, but still her presence in the school as a teacher was enough to me. As a respect to her i always tried to be a good student and be an obedient student, because i always wanted that she should be proud of me.
As i reached the higher classes, i got an opportunity to attend her lectures. I always took utmost care to score my best in the subjects she taught. I don't if it was respect, or her personality or her loving nature which made an impact on all the students. The students never misbehaved in her class and always tried their best to impress her.
Then came the Std. 10th. She was our class teacher then. It was a crucial year for all of us as it was the year of our board exams. She was a mathematics genius and use to teach us algebra and geometry. Maths was one of my favorite subjects, but during 10th std, i was very determined to score the highest in the board as i wanted to be proud of me. I even use to go for extra classes to her place along with other students. I know from within that she too wanted that i be the top scorer in the class I too gave my 100% in that subject. I still remember that day of the final examination, the first call i received was from her to know whether i was all to solve all the questions.
I scored the highest in the class in Maths and i could sense the happiness in her eyes with this news. I should say that i owe to her my success in career. It was only due to her impact in my life that i grew up to become a good student, scored well and became a better person.
Though she is not with us in our life anymore, her impact on my life will always be there. I hope to become a good mother, a mentor, a friend to my kid, just like her. Maya aunty i love you a lot and you will always be a part of my life till lifetime.
