Dosa is the most famous south Indian dish which is now popular across India and even aboard. We all know the most common masala dosa and plain dosa which is also prepared in our kitchens. But do you know that dosa in not just limited to the masala dosa but there are lot of varieties of dosa that can be made at home.
Let us look at such fantastico ideas to make different types of dosas

1.      Green Moong Dal Dosa (Pesarattu)
This dosa is made of green moong dal instead of urad dal. For this you have to soak the green moong dal overnight and then grind it with soaked rice to make a dosa batter. You can place the chopped onions and grounded groundnut chutney in between the dosa to make it more interesting. As green moong dal is very high in protein it is a very nutritious breakfast item.

2.      Neer Dosa
Neer dosa is totally made of rice batter. No dal is mixed in this batter as done in the general dosa batter. The neer dosas are very soft and fluffy. This dosa has a mesh like appearance and is generally accompanied with chicken curry.

3.      Besan Dosa (Chilla)
The besan dosa or famously known as chilla in North India is an instant kind of dosa. You don’t have to soak any rice or dal for this dosa. Just add water to the besan to make a dosa kind of consistency. You can add tomatoes, onions, green chilies, coriander leaves to it along with spices to make it interesting.

4.      Poha Dosa
To make poha dosa you have to grind the soaked poha with soaked rice to make the dosa batter. No urad dal is used in this dosa. Due to poha it gives the dosa a very crispy texture and tastes good too. You can spread the podi chutney on the dosa along with some ghee to make it tastier.

5.      Chocolate Dosa
This is one is the favorite among kids. For this, on the normal dosa you can spread the chocolate spread and top it with some nuts to make a tasty and healthy dosa for the kids.

6.      Sweet Dosa
This dosa is quite famous in the northern part of the country. It is make with the wheat flour. You have to add the sugar and water in the wheat flour and beat it to make a dosa kind of batter. Try to make thin dosas with this batter as the thinner ones tastes better.

7.      Banana Dosa
This dosa is again as sweet dosa. To make this dosa replace the rice/urad dal with mashed banana and milk.  No need to add sugar as the natural sugar from banana is enough. Top the dosas with some chopped bananas. This is again very good for kids as they love the banana flavor and it is very rich in potassium.

8.      Chinese Dosa
Yes you heard it right, dosa can also be Chinese. Here you can replace the traditional aloo masala with Chinese noodles, chilly paneer or Manchurian. You can also spread the shezwan sauce on the dosa before placing the filling.
