Gone are the days, when we use to wait for a weekend so that
we can go for the home essentials shopping. I remember how my list to pile up
till the weekend for the essential things to shop for the home. I had to wait
for the weekend because on weekdays I and my husband doesn’t get time to go to
the stores. And since we had to spend one entire day to plan and go to the
essential stores and the get in those long queues for the billing, we do did
not time for leisure at all.
Well not only for the home essentials shopping, do you
remember those long queues in the Malls, during the sale season. Oh god that is
really maddening, the long queues in the trial room and then in the billing
section. Sometimes I get so tired that I totally give up and decide not to shop
during the sale season.
But now this new revolution of the online stores have made
our lives easier. There is no need to stand in those long queues anymore. By
sitting at home, we can shop anything at any time and get it delivered to our
doorsteps. Such is the impact of these online stores that I don’t feel like
going to the local stores anymore. You get each and everything online and that
too with great offers and discounts. These stores have surely made a huge
impact on our lives.
But for all good things there is also a flip side. Well
though the online stores have made our life easy, they have a negative impact
also. The first and biggest impact that I feel is the overspending. I have
realized that I have started overspending from the time I have started online
shopping. There are so many products and great offers that I end up buying
products which I really do not need. But I think that is what the strategy of
these stores is to woo the people to buy more at the expense of the pocket of
the customers.
Another impact that I see is end up buying a compromised quality
product. Yes, this is true because unlike the real store, we do not get to
touch and feel the product nor compare the quality with the other products. So
sometimes I feel that, just because of the lucrative offer I ended by buying a
product of compromised quality.
One more negative impact is developing a bad habit of ordering
everything online. Well yes, the online shopping is so addictive, that one may
end up buying even the smallest thing online instead of walking to the nearby
store. Due to this habit one may also end up buying products with higher price
as compared to the local stores.
So, as seen above, online shopping has both negative and
positive impact on the lives of we people. One needs to be a very smart shopper
to keep balance between the two and gain the benefits of both the means of
shopping.
