Some Fantastico Preparations from leftover Food..!!

8:54 AM | Publish by Apurva

Managing the leftover food is the headache for everyone. You neither feel like eating it nor like to throw away. But if we apply some ideas we can make some fantastico recipes with the leftover food and present it in a new form.
Below I am sharing some fantastico ideas with some common left over food.
Idlis
Idlis are something that only tastes good when freshly prepared. If the idlis are left over, no one in the family feel like eating it the next day. But what if we give a new life to the plain leftover idlis, I am sure everyone will love it. The best is to make fried idlis with them. You have to just cut the idlis in small long pieces and deep fry them until golden brown. To make it more interesting you can prepare a tadka with some oil, curry leaves, rai, onions, tomatoes and some spices. Cook them properly and then garnish over the fried idlis.
One more preparation is to make idli upma. For this just soak the idlis in water for some time and then squeeze out the water of it. Now you can mash the idlis and then give the same tadka that we give for the upma.

Rotis
Rotis are also very common that are generally leftover for the next day. No one like to eat the leftover rotis. But with rotis too we can make some fantastico recepies. Firstly you can just cut the rotis into small pieces and just give the same tadka that we give for the upma adding onions and tomatoes to it. Sprinkle some water on the rotis to make them soft while cooking. Thus we can make a roti upma out of leftover rotis
Another idea is to grind it with some sugar and very little ghee. This make a deleicious churma out of the leftover rotis. You can make the ladoos with the mixture and garnish with some dry fruits. It really tastes awesome.

Rice
Rice is again a very common leftover food item in every household. Lot of preparations can be made with the rice. The best one is the fried rice. Just take some oil and add the curry leaves and rai and green chillies. Then sautee some onions and tomatoes. You can also add other vegetables like beans, capsicum, cabbage etc. to it. Then put the left over rice and stir fry it. Add the spices and serve hot. This gives a really different face to the boring leftover plain rice.
Another idea is to boil it in some milk and make a kheer out of it. As the rice is already cooked, it will take a very little time for the kheer to get ready.

Dal
The best way to use the leftover dal is to put it in the roti flour. This gives a good taste to the rotis and your dal is also used in a good way.

Curries and Sabzis
Leftover curries and sabzis can be used to make cutlets. Just add some bread, boiled potatoes till it gets binds into a tikki. And then shallow fry to make some awesome tikkis.

So friends, with some new ideas we can turn our left over food into a fantastico new recipe. So next time don’t just throw away your leftover food, just try to use it the next day in different preparations.
