India is a land of variety food. We have so many different types of cuisines found here. Every region has its own specialty of food. One thing that fascinates me is the type of breads that we find here. We have so many different kinds of breads made here with variety of flour. Breads are very important part of the Indian meals. Let us look at some of these fantastico Indian Breads which gives us a glimpse of the depth that we have in our Indian cuisine.

The most common Indian bread is the Roti/Chapati made from Wheat flour. Wheat flour is found in abundance all over India. Due to its high nutritional value and light in nature, it used a lot in the Indian families. Another very popular bread made with wheat flour is the delicious Parathas. Indians can make a paratha out of anything, be it any lentil or vegetables.

Another famous is the bread made from the Bajra flour. This bread can be mostly found in the North Indian region. Bajra is generally eaten during the winters as it helps in keeping body warm.

Another fantastico bread is the world famous Makkai ki Roti. As the name suggests it is made from makkai which is nothing by flour made from corn and originates from Punjab region. It is famous all over the world with the combination known as makkai ki roti and sarson ka saag. This is again prepared during the winters as it helps to keep the body warm.

One more bread originating from the North region is the Kulcha. Kalcha is made from the processed flour i.e. maida. In the North Indian region, it is famous as Kulcha chole. And believe me its taste is so fantastico, specially the ones sold at the dhabas or the stalls, and it should not be missed if you are visiting North India.

Then we also have pooris, which is mostly prepared in the all the regions of India. It is a fried bread made from generally wheat flour. In many places it is served with a combination as poori bhaaji where they serve a potato bhaaji with it. It is also considered as very auspicious and prepared during festivals and celebrations.

The other kind of bread, which is mostly found in the Maharashtra region or can also be said as the5
staple bread is the one made from the Jowar flour which is called a Bhakri. Jowar again is very high in nutritional value. In Maharashtra it is famous with the combination called as Jhunka Bhakar.

Another fantastico bread which is famous all over the world is the Bhatura known for its combination with Chole. This bread is a fried fluffy bread made with the processed flour (maida).

One more bread which cannot be missed is the Missi Roti. This again is mostly prepared in the North Indian region and is made from different combinations of flour.

Above are few of the most fantastico Indian Breads, some of which are even world famous. So now we know about so many different kinds of breads made with variety of flour. So why don’t we add a variety to our daily food and give a surprise to our family by making a different kind of bread every day.
