Well this is the most common recipe prepared with oats. Here be boil the oats with milk and sugar till it gets a creamy texture. You can add some nuts and fruits to enhance its taste and nutritive value.

Oats Upma
This one is my favorite recipe. To make oats upma, dry roast the oats till they become light golden brown. Then in a pan, heat some oil and add the curry leaves and rai. Put some onions and fry till translucent. You can add more vegetables like carrots, peas, beans etc and let them cook from sometime. Add the roasted oats to this along with hot water and salt and let it cook till the water is absorbed. Garnish with some fresh coriander leaves.

Oats Idli
This is a very simple and nutritive recipe and a good substitute to the traditional idlis. For this you have to coarsely ground the oats and then mix it with sour curd to make a batter. To this batter give a tadka of curry leaves and rai, chana dal, cashewnuts etc. Now you can make the fantastico idlis with this batter.

Oats Kheer
Can you imagine if the kheer can be tasty and healthy too? Yes we can make kheer with oats too. You have to just roast the oats till golden brown. Now in a vessel heat the milk and bring it to boil. Now add the oats and let the milk boil in slow flame till it thickens. Then add the sugar and nuts to the kheer and mix well. To make the kheer healthier you can replace the sugar with honey or jaggery.

Oats Tikki
This tikki is very simple. Just take some boiled potatoes, green peas, chopped carrots and onions and mash them. Now to this mixture add around one cup of oats along with the required seasoning as per taste and mix well. Make a tikki shape with this mixture. To make the outer crust crispier you can dip this tikki in milk and then coat it with some grounded oats. Now you can shallow fry this tikkis.
