A fragrance that left a strong impact on me

Nose is a sensory organ that is very strong and can smell anything good or bad from far of distance. The kind of smell that reaches your senses sets the flavor of your mood. Different kind of smell has a different impact on your mood.

Have you seen anyone standing around some foul smelling place and in a happy mood? You will surely see a frown on his face and wanting to move away from the place as soon as possible. And in contrast a good scent would definitely bring a smile on one’s face.
I too get inspired with good fragrances and some of them leaves a strong impact on my senses for a long time.

I am a nature loving person and like to admire trees and flowers. Me and my husband go a lot for outings to places which are very close to nature and away from the city life. My favorite destination is Konkan. We visit a lot to different places in konkan and try to explore new things there. Every time we visit Konkan, the visit impacts me in a different way.

Last time we visited a place called Hedvi which is again in Konkan. We stayed in cottage which had a lot of konkan flavor to it. After having our dinner we went out for a walk in the streets. While walking suddenly we came across a very different kind of scent. Surely was a smell of some flower but I came across it for the first time. It was so mesmerizing that I asked my husband to search the source from where it is coming. After looking here and there I saw a flower tree with white flowers and orange stem giving this sweet smell.

Lot of flowers where even fallen down. I was so tempted to pick them up and take home, that I took out my handkerchief and actually collected few of them. At that time I didn’t knew the name of the flower but fragrance I could not forget for the long time. It left such strong impact on me that i wanted to smell that fragrance again and again.

Later we asked the hotel manager about the flower and he told that they call it Raat Rani. And like its name it was surely a Rani (Queen). I then searched on internet and came to know that it is called Night Queen/Night Blooming Jasmine in english.
The trip was over but that Raat Rani flower left a strong impact on me for a long time.

I have never seen any perfume or fresheners that reminds me of that lovely fragrance of the Raat Rani Flowers. Such was the impact of that fragrance that after reaching home, the next day I went to a nursery and bought a Raat Rani plant for my terrace garden. Really, something’s, sometimes in life leave such a strong impact on our mind that we are not able to forget it.

This blog post is inspired by the blogging marathon hosted on IndiBlogger for the launch of the #Fantastico Zica from Tata Motors. You can apply for a test drive of the hatchback Zica today.
